God Blesses Those Who Pursue Him

Scripture:

“Also the neighbor women gave him a name, saying, “There is a son born to Naomi.” And they called his name Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.”
‭‭Ruth‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Observation:

Ruth was a moabite.  She was not a child of Israel, but had married an Israelite.  When her husband died, she decided to leave her family and be joined to Naomi, her mother in law.  She was determined to bless Naomi and serve her and her God.  Her desire to pursue the God of Naomi got the attention of God and she became the great grandmother of King David.

Application:

God tends to break the rules when He sees someone who is determined to serve Him, regardless of age, race, or religious background.  God always honors a person who pursues Him above all else.  When we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, He gives us everything else.  God can turn devastation into great blessing, but we need to walk determined to honor and serve Him no matter what.  In bad times, we need to turn to Him and not run away.

Prayer:

Father, I want to always be a pursuer of You and Your kingdom.  I love You, honor You and desire to know You more and more.  Enable me to pursue You above anything else.  You truly do bless those who seek You first.  Help me to be that person.

Yours,
Jeff
