Four Promises to Lean On

Scripture:

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Isaiah gives this beautiful and powerful word from the Lord.  He tells them not to be afraid or discouraged because: God is with them, He is their God, He will strengthen them, and He will hold them up with His victorious right hand.  These four promises from God have given strength and encouragement to God’s people for centuries.

Application:

Sometimes I can get discouraged and allow fear into my life.  Discouragement takes the courage out of us and stops us from attempting things for God.  These four promises need to stay in my heart and mind throughout the day every day.  He promises that He will be with me.  He let’s me know He is my God.  He strengthens and helps me, and He holds me up with his powerful arm.  It is totally about Him and not about me.  Therefore, I need to let Him do His work and trust Him more and more.

Prayer:

Father, You are incredible.  Thank you for your promises to me.  Help me to not to be fearful or discouraged, but to trust Your promises.  Help me to know the next steps in my life, my family, and the church I lead.  I want to see You work powerfully each day.

Yours,
Jeff

Do Not Answer Him

Scripture:

“But the people were silent and did not utter a word because Hezekiah had commanded them, “Do not answer him.””
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭36:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Sennacherib had sent a message to the people of Israel saying they should surrender and he would treat them well. He questioned whether their God would be able to save them.  He reminded them that no other nation, and the gods of those nations had been able to stand against the Assyrian army.  He tried to put doubt into people’s minds concerning their God.

Application:

Isaiah says about the people of Israel that they were told, “Do not answer him”,  When the enemy was threatening their very existence, they didn’t say anything.  Satan loves to bring condemnation and guilt to God’s people.  He loves to tell us things will never change and it’s only going to get worse.  We must learn to not listen to him and not say a word.  Silence can be absolutely powerful.

Prayer:

Father, show me when to speak and when to simply wait on You.  Lead me by Your Spirit concerning  when to speak up and when to simply be quiet and confident.  Let me walk with You at a stronger level and let me not say the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Yours,
Jeff

Until at Last

Scripture:

“until at last the Spirit is poured out on us from heaven. Then the wilderness will become a fertile field, and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭32:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Isaiah here is rebuking Israel for walking away from God, but at the same time he tells them that at last, the Spirit will be poured out on them and they would produce fruit again.  Bountiful crops come when the Spirit of God is poured out.

Application:

It is the Spirit who brings life.  It is the Spirit who leads and guides us into truth.  It is the Spirit who turns the wilderness into a fertile field.  I want Your Spirit more and more in my life.  I want an outpouring in my home, my church and my region.  Bring about fruit Holy Spirit.

Prayer:

Lord, pour out Your Spirit on everything I touch.  I want your life to explode in people.  I want to see people’s lives truly turned around and set on solid ground where they can grow.  Move by Your Spirit in my church.  Let nothing stop the move of God, especially me.

Yours,
Jeff

The Potter Is Greater than the Clay

Scripture:

“How foolish can you be? He is the Potter, and he is certainly greater than you, the clay! Should the created thing say of the one who made it, “He didn’t make me”? Does a jar ever say, “The potter who made me is stupid”?”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭29:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Isaiah says here that God is certainly greater than the people of Israel.  He wanted them to realize that God created them and the created thing cannot say to the creator that He didn’t make them.  The jar can never say that the potter is stupid and doesn’t know what he is doing.

Application:

Sometimes we don’t like what we see around us.  There are times when we question Gos about our lives and think God is doing a terrible job in building something.  Most of the time we think we have the answers for our lives, but God know best.  He is the author and finisher.  He wrote the story of our lives and knows best what we need at all times.  Our place is to soften ourselves and let ourselves be molded by Him.

Prayer:

Lord God Almighty, I submit to You. I submit to Your ways.  Work in my life.  Shape me into Your design for my life.  Continue to work on me on the potter’s wheel.  Help me to remain teachable, moldable, and shapable.  May my prayer always be, Your kingdom come and Your will be done.

Yours,
Jeff

Peace at All Times

Scripture:

“Lord, you will grant us peace; all we have accomplished is really from you.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Isaiah says here that God is the grantor of peace.  Isaiah also realized that everything accomplished, God gets the credit for.  So many times in Scripture, peace is promised to those who love the Lord and seek Him.  It is an attribute that God’s people should have above everyone else in the world.  We should be known for our peace because it is promised throughout Scripture.

Application:

As we pursue God, peace should be what we are known for.  The more we trust in the Lord, peace and confidence in the Lord should fill our lives.  I want to walk in the peace that the Lord offers to His people.  It seems there are times when peace is amazing in my life and there are times when my peace evades me.  I want more of God’s peace, knowing He has everything under control.

Prayer:

Father, help me to walk in Your peace and to walk in confidence in Your promises.  Let peace overflow my life every day.  When there is trouble, let me be a peacemaker.  When there is stress, let me bring relief.  Let your peace rest on my life.

But Instead

Scripture:

“At that time the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, called you to weep and mourn. He told you to shave your heads in sorrow for your sins and to wear clothes of burlap to show your remorse. But instead, you dance and play; you slaughter cattle and kill sheep. You feast on meat and drink wine. You say, “Let’s feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!””
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭22:12-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

This passage tells us of a time when God was calling His people to weep and mourning, but instead they danced and played and had a feast saying let’s eat and drink because we are going to die tomorrow.  There is grace danger in celebrating when God wants us mourning.

Application:

We must be sensitive to the voice and the move of God.  There is a time to fast and pray and sacrifice and there is a time to celebrate victories in the camp of the Lord.  We must learn to walk in step with the Spirit so that we will know when it is right to humble ourselves before God and cry out to Him and when to take our position of victory and fight.  Timing is very important to the Lord.

Prayer:

Father, let me know Your timing.  I don’t want to be out of step with You.  I want to know what You are doing and what You want of me at all times.  I don’t want to party when You want me broken.  I don’t want to be out of step with you.  Let me hear Your voice clearly as I look to You.

Your Son,
Jeff

God Will Silence Your Enemies

Scripture:

“But though they thunder like breakers on a beach, God will silence them, and they will run away. They will flee like chaff scattered by the wind, like a tumbleweed whirling before a storm.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭17:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Isaiah is talking about the enemies of Israel coming against them in the future.  He says though they thunder like breakers on the beach, God will silence them and they will run away.  God will scatter the enemies of His people.

Application:

The God I serve sees everything.  Nothing escapes His sight.  He knows every time we are treated unfairly, taken advantage of, or someone comes against us.  He also has the ability to fight for His beloved.  He know how to route any enemy that comes against His people.  I need to learn to trust God with those who are against me and to let Him fight my battles.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to walk humbly before You.  Teach me to worship You while enemies are attacking.  Help me to walk in confidence that You will scatter those who come against me.  I long to see More and more souls come to Christ in my region, but I also know that the enemy doesn’t like that.   Deal with my enemies and I will do my best to extend Your Kingdom.

Your Son,
Jeff

The Power of a Testimony

Scripture:

“See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord GOD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.””
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Here Isaiah tells the people of Israel that one day a remnant of them will have a testimony of what their God did for them.  He tells them that they will be declaring that God came and saved them and given them the victory.  They will realize it was God and not themselves that conquered their enemies.

Application:

I want to see more and more testimonies of what God is doing in people’s lives.  I am hungry to see His power move in and through His people.  Testimonies are powerful because people can’t argue with the signs and wonders God sends.  I want God to do things around me that only He can get credit for.  I want people to see the goodness of God in my life and ministry and to realize that He will do the same for them if they serve Him.

Prayer:

Arise oh Lord and demonstrate Your glorious power.  Come and move mightily in our midst.  Do some things nobody can get credit for so we can point people to Your goodness.  Let testimonies be numerous of what You are doing in people’s lives.  You are everything to me and I want more and more reasons to shout Your praise and to point people to You.

Your Son,
Jeff

Look to God’s Instructions

Scripture:

“Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Here we are told to look to God’s instructions and that people who go against God’s word are completely in the dark.  When we stay in the Word and remain in the Lord, we walk in the light and there is no darkness in Him.  We stay in the light by staying in God’s word and in God’s presence.

Application:

I want to walk in the light and remain in the light at all times.  To do this, I need to continually stay in the Word of God and allow it to transform my life.   I don’t want to contradict God’s word and be in the dark.  As I have gotten older, working on things like my car, I am always asking for more light on where I’m working.  I always complain that I don’t have enough light to work.  I want to always have the flashlight of the Holy Spirit lighting up my life so I must start in His word.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to stay in Your word continually.  Guide me with Your light so I can see the next steps to take.  Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.  Speak to me clearly so I can follow.  You know the desire of my heart is to always know Your will and to do it.

Yours,
Jeff

I Saw the Lord

Scripture:

“It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of his robe filled the Temple.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭6:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up, sitting on His lofty throne and the train of his robe filled the Temple.  Isaiah got to see what few have seen.  He was taken away to an incredible place where cherubim and seraphim reside and worship the King of glory.  One view of the Lord and he was willing to do whatever the Lord said from that point on in his life.

Application:

One glimpse of the glory of the Lord and we are forever changed.  One real encounter with God and we are forever changed.  God is awesome and I want to see Him more and more.  I want to encounter my God, not just believe in Him.  I want to walk with Him and talk with Him.  I want to know Him intimately.  I want to see Your face Lord.

Prayer:

Lord, I long for You and You alone.  I want to see You in Your holy place.  I want to know Your heart and see Your glory.  Help me to live a life of pursuing You.  You are my everything.  Help me never to be content with just talking about You, but with knowing You and encountering You.  I long for Your presence.  I want You to move in my church, my family, my life and my region.  Come Mighty God and pour out Your Spirit.

Your Son,
Jeff

Help the Oppressed

Scripture:

“Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Isaiah is prophesying to Judah and Jerusalem and here is telling them how to get back on track with the God they had walked away from.  He tells them the way back to God is to help the oppressed, defend the orphan, seek justice and to fight for the rights of widows.  This is Isaiah’s path to repentance.

Application:

If we want to see God work in greater measure in our lives, we must do what God loves.  he loves when we take care of the widow and orphan.  He loves when His people help the oppressed and walk out justice.  Pure religion is taking care of the widow and orphan.  We must do our best to take care of the poor in our society if we want to see God move.

Prayer:

Father, help me to do everything possible to take care of the poor in my region.  Thank You for opening my eyes to see what is possible in ministering to the needs of my city.  Continue to open my eyes to see Your cause and give me the faith and strength to go after what You open.

Yours,
Jeff

The Lord Stood with Me

Scripture:

“At first there was no one I could count on to faithfully stand with me—they all ran off and abandoned me—but don’t hold this against them. For in spite of this, my Lord himself stood with me, empowering me to complete my ministry of preaching to all the non-Jewish nations so they all could hear the message and be delivered from the mouth of the lion!”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:16-17‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Paul is closing his letter to his son in the faith and tells him that in the beginning, he had nobody he could count on, but don’t hold that against them.  He goes on to say that the Lord stood with him and empowered him to complete his ministry.  There are times in ministry when it feels like there its nobody who you can count on, but God is always with us, empowering us for ministry.

Application:

At times, ministry can be a lonely place because it feels like there is nobody you can trust to do what needs done.  It can be hard at times to continue when you feel like people are not supportive to the vision God has given you.  In times when I feel like that, I need to remember all the times the Lord has shown up and delivered me and empowered me to do His will.  I can truly trust Him completely.

Prayer:

Lord, empower me to complete everything You have given me to do.  Help me not to look to people, but to look to You.  Show me how to lead others and pull the best out of them for Your kingdom.  Enable me to lead well and to finish the work You have given me to do.  Speak to me clearly Lord.  I want to see revival and multitudes come into Your kingdom.

Yours Forever,

Jeff

No Rivals

Scripture:

“He’s steadfast in all he does. His ways are the ways of righteousness, based on truth and holiness. None can rival him, but all will be amazed by him.”
‭‭Song of Songs‬ ‭5:15‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Song of Songs can be seen as a love song between Jesus and His bride.  If taken that way, this verse is speaking of Him and tells us He is steadfast in all He does and that His ways are righteous, based on truth and holiness.  Solomon goes on to say that none can rival him, but all will be amazed by Him.  Jesus truly is righteous, true, holy, and He has no rivals.  All will one day be amazed by him.

Application:

I have been blessed by a song this year that speaks of God’s reckless love for us.  My favorite part of the song say, “You have not rivals.  You have no equals.”  I don’t want anything to be a rival to Jesus in my life.  I want to live a life of sold out passionate love for my king.  Sometimes life and the frustrations of life can rival my love for my king and I want Him to have no rivals in my life.

Prayer:

Father, may there be no rivals in my life to You.  Let me live a life of abandonment to the things of God.  I want You to be first place in my life at all times.  You truly have no rivals and no equals.  Help me to worship You like that is true.  Let my life reflect the fact that nothing compares to You.

Your Son,

Jeff

Live What You Preach

Scripture:

“Give careful attention to your spiritual life and every cherished truth you teach, for living what you preach will then release even more abundant life inside you and to all those who listen to you.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Paul tells Timothy here that he should give careful attention to his spiritual life and what he teaches.  He finishes with a promise of what happens when a minister does.  Paul says, “living what you preach will then release even more abundant life inside you and to all those who listen to you.”  There are powerful words.

Application:

Living what you preach releases more abundant life in you and in those who listen to you.  I want LIFE to flow when I speak.  I want the life of God to flow in powerful ways and for people to receive what is spoken.  I want my life to speak louder than my sermons, which will release abundant life.  Ministry can be draining and I want to walk in step with the Holy Spirit at all times and remain refreshed.

Prayer:

Lord, let me live out every message I preach.  Let Your word convict me daily and let my life be an example of my preaching.  Release Your abundant life in me as an example for others.  Let me live refreshed and full of Your Zoe life.  Let those who hear my preaching also receive and walk in step with You and be full of Zoe life.

Yours,
Jeff

Thank You Lord

Scripture:

“My heart spills over with thanks to God for the way he continually empowers me, and to our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, who found me trustworthy and who authorized me to be his partner in this ministry.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:12‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Paul tells Timothy in this passage that  his heart spilled over with thanks to God who continually empowered him.  He was also very thankful for Jesus who found him trustworthy and who authorized him to be his partner in ministry.  Paul realized that Jesus was partnering with him as he served the Lord in ministry and he was extremely thankful for that.

Application:

I need to walk in thanksgiving for the calling of God on my life.  I need to realize how incredible it really is that Jesus is my partner in extending the Kingdom around the world.  He has been so good to me.  I need to have my heart spilling over with thanks for God’s calling.  It is truly an honor to serve with my Lord.

Prayer:

Father, help me to be a better partner with You.  Help me to walk in appreciation of all You have done in and through my life.  Thank You for calling me and separating me for ministry.  Help me to reach my full potential in serving You and building Your kingdom here and around that world.  I want to serve You well and make Your name famous in all the earth.

Thankful You Chose Me,

Jeff

Don’t Wait

Scripture:

“Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Solomon says some powerful words here about life in general using a farmer as an example.  He basically says that being too cautious and waiting for the best time for things, generally will leave you never accomplishing what you need to accomplish.  Waiting for a better day or a better situation will cause you to miss out on what needs done.

Application:

I have heard it said that the opportunity of a lifetime must be seized within the lifetime of the opportunity.  In other words, opportunities don’t last forever, they must be grasped when offered.  Instead of waiting for the perfect timing on things and the perfect conditions, we need to just start doing what God is calling us to do.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to make the most of every opportunity.  Teach me to move when You say move and to do what You say needs done.  I don’t want to make excuses or put things off that You want me to do now.  Help me to discern Your timing on things and not to shrink back if I feel I’m not ready, etc.  I want to do Your will and do it well.

Yours,
Jeff

Have Fun

Scripture:

“So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them under the sun.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭8:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

After Solomon has talked extensively about everything under the sun, he concludes here that it is good to have some fun because nothing is better than eating, drinking and enjoying life.  He basically says that there will be plenty of hard work as long as we live here on earth so go ahead and have some fun.

Application:

Sometimes we are guilty of simply taking ourselves too seriously and not enjoying life enough.  Sometimes we need to take a break from the work and go have some fun.  I am personally in a place where I know I need to slow down some and enjoy life a little more because it is passing me by quicker and quicker it seems.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to balance my life better.  Help me to have some fun in the process of building Your kingdom and working in Your fields.  Teach me to live a life that accomplishes much, but is also full of fun and enjoyable.  Teach me to when to work hard and when to have some fun along the way.  Let me be led by Your Spirit every day.

Yours,
Jeff

Beauty in God’s Timing

Scripture:

“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Observation:

Solomon had everything money and power could grab in life.  He was amazingly successful.  At the end, he had no explanation to it all except that everything is beautiful in its time.  When we think about eternity, we will understand that we don’t have to have everything in the moment we see it.  When we live in God’s timing and trust Hi will.  Our lives will be beautiful at the right time.

Application:

I need to remain focused on eternity throughout my lifetime.  I don’t live for the here and now, but for eternity.  I must learn to trust God to make everything beautiful in His timing.  I believe I am to work hard at what He gives me to do, then to trust He will work out the details in His timing and will make everything beautiful.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to trust You more and more each day.  Help me to stay focused on eternity and not on the things that are temporary.  Make things in my life and my family’s life beautiful.  Let us see the day of good things and let Your blessing overtake us at the right time.  I am Yours eternally.

Jeff

The Lord of Peace

Scripture:

“Now, may the Lord himself, the Lord of peace, pour into you his peace in every circumstance and in every possible way. The Lord’s tangible presence be with you all.”
‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

In this text, Paul speaks a blessing over the people of Thessalonica.  He prays that the Lord of Peace will pour his peace into every circumstance of their lives and that the Lord’s tangible presence would be with them.  If Jesus is the Lord of peace, then His people should be filled with peace.  Peace is spoken of constantly in the NewTestament and we need it in our lives today more than ever.

Application:

God has provided peace for our lives.  We need to tap into it and begin walking in it.  I know I tend to get stressed out too much and need to be filled with His peace.  My name means “peaceful” and I want to be a carrier of peace everywhere I go.  I want His peace poured into every circumstance and in every other possible way.

Prayer:

Father, fill my life with Your peace.  Help me to walk in Your peace at all times.  I know that comes from time with You and being in Your presence.  Your presence brings me peace in the midst of any storm.  Your presence is life to me.  Let me live in Your presence and walk in Your peace at all times.

Yours Forever,
Jeff

Wisdom’s Benefits

Scripture:

“Wisdom can make anyone into a mighty warrior, and revelation-knowledge increases strength.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭24:5‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Solomon was a powerful king and he had great understanding.  In this passage, he tells us that wisdom can make any ordinary person into a mighty warrior.  He goes on to say that revelation-knowledge cause you to grow stronger.  If you want to be mighty and strong, you need wisdom and revelation.

Application:

I find myself crying out to God for wisdom and revelation more and more.  I have learned that I don’t know all the answers and that I am totally dependent on on my Heavenly Father.  I need to work on getting wise people’s input as well.  I want to walk in wisdom, but you only get that from walking with the wise.

Prayer:

Father, put me in the midst of wise people and people with revelation knowledge.  I want to grow in these areas.  More than anything I want to hear Your voice and be led by Your Spirit.  You are the wisest of the wise and I want wisdom that comes from You.  Take me into the place of supernatural wisdom and revelation.

Lay It Down

Scripture:

“Laying your life down in tender surrender before the Lord will bring life, prosperity, and honor as your reward.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22:4‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Solomon understood that what you lay down before the Lord gets blessed.  He knew that when you sacrifice something for the Lord that the Lord takes notice and blesses you with life, prosperity, and honor.  Our job is to lay down our lives, the Lord’s job is to bless them and honor them.

Application:

I need to live a life of daily surrender to God and to the things of God.  When I make my life about Him, He will bless it over and over again.  I need to lay down my life, my vision, my dreams, and pick up His.  I need to be able His business and let Him take care of me and mine.

Prayer:

Father, I lay my life down before You today as a sacrifice.  Help me to live a life that pleases You and that You can bless.  As I have laid, and continue to lay down my life, I trust You to bring life, prosperity, and honor.  You are worthy of my very best!

Good Leadership

Scripture:

“Good leadership is built on love and truth, for kindness and integrity are what keep leaders in their position of trust.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭20:28‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Here Solomon tells us that good leadership has love and truth as its foundation and that kindness and integrity keep leaders in their position.  Sometimes leaders can be harsh, and unloving because they are only obsessed with the bottom line.  In God’s kingdom, it is love, truth, kindness and integrity that are to be pursued.

Application:

As a leader, my life matters.  It is crucial that I treat people well.  Love is God’s main characteristic and should be the foundation of my life and leadership.  God has given me a place of leadership in His kingdom, my job is to walk in kindness and integrity so that I don’t fall out of the position He has granted me.

Prayer:

Father, let me be more like You each day.  Help me to walk in love and truth and to treat people as You want me to treat them.  Help me to value people as You value them.  I don’t want to ruin anything You are doing in and through my life.  Help me to stay in step with You and to represent You well.  I am Yours.

Life-giving Words

Scripture:

“Nothing is more appealing than speaking beautiful, life-giving words. For they release sweetness to our souls and inner healing to our spirits.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:24‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Here, we are told that life-giving words are more appealing than anything else and that they release sweetness an dinner healing to the spirit.  Life-giving words are powerful and produce greater results than destructive words.  Words are powerful and will make or break people’s lives.  Our words reflect what is in our hearts, therefore our words need to be well-chosen.

Application:

I need to watch the words of my mouth and make sure they are life-giving and edifying.  In a place of  leadership, I know my words have strong impact on people’s lives.  I know that when I speak, I also represent the Lord as His ambassador.  Therefore, I need to be speaking what He is speaking and refrain from adding my own feelings.  I want to bring sweetness to souls and inner-healing to spirits.

Prayer:

Father, teach me to use my words with wisdom.  Let my words reflect Your heart.  Help me to be a fountain of life-giving words and to release sweetness and healing.  Teach me to guard my tongue and let it be used for Your glory and to bring about Your will in those I speak to.  Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be holy and acceptable in Your sight.

Yours,
Jeff

Know Your Season

Scripture:

“Know the importance of the season you’re in and a wise son you will be. But what a waste when an incompetent son sleeps through his day of opportunity!”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭10:5‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Solomon realized that the opportunity of a lifetime must be seized within the lifetime of the opportunity.  He understood that there are seasons and that we must make the most of the season we are in.  He says that when we do that, we will be a wise son.

Application:

We can’t sleep through the day of our opportunity.  We must live each day to the fullest and understand the season we are in.  There are things that must be done at the time the opportunity arises.  When we miss opportunities, we will have less and less opportunities.  When we take advantage of opportunities and seasons, we will have more and more of them.  I need to live each day knowing the season and seizing opportunities for the Kingdom.

Prayer:

Lord God Almighty, help me to hear Your voice and take advantage of each opportunity and season You bring into my life.  Help me to know when to move forward and press through things and when to back off and let You work.  Teach me to walk in step with You more and more.  You know the seasons better than I do.  Lead me through them and let my life be productive for You.

Yours,
Jeff
