Scripture:
“At first there was no one I could count on to faithfully stand with me—they all ran off and abandoned me—but don’t hold this against them. For in spite of this, my Lord himself stood with me, empowering me to complete my ministry of preaching to all the non-Jewish nations so they all could hear the message and be delivered from the mouth of the lion!”
2 Timothy 4:16-17 TPT
Observation:
Paul is closing his letter to his son in the faith and tells him that in the beginning, he had nobody he could count on, but don’t hold that against them. He goes on to say that the Lord stood with him and empowered him to complete his ministry. There are times in ministry when it feels like there its nobody who you can count on, but God is always with us, empowering us for ministry.
Application:
At times, ministry can be a lonely place because it feels like there is nobody you can trust to do what needs done. It can be hard at times to continue when you feel like people are not supportive to the vision God has given you. In times when I feel like that, I need to remember all the times the Lord has shown up and delivered me and empowered me to do His will. I can truly trust Him completely.
Prayer:
Lord, empower me to complete everything You have given me to do. Help me not to look to people, but to look to You. Show me how to lead others and pull the best out of them for Your kingdom. Enable me to lead well and to finish the work You have given me to do. Speak to me clearly Lord. I want to see revival and multitudes come into Your kingdom.
Yours Forever,
Jeff
