Trustworthy

 Scripture:

“But they need not account for the money entrusted to them, because they are honest in their dealings.””  ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭22:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation:

Josiah was in the process of cleansing Judah from it’s idols and restoring the Temple in Jerusalem.  There was a lot of work to be done so he hired people who were skilled to do the repairs and restoration project for the Temple.  They were so trustworthy that nobody required an accounting of the money because they knew it was being spent properly and that the people were people of integrity.

Application:

It says a lot about someone when they can be trusted with God’’s finances.  It says that they won’t take the money for personal gain or use it for some other purpose.  We should live our lives so that those who are around us absolutely know we are trustworthy and that we won’t take for ourselves whatever we need or want.  I believe in contracts because we cant’t trust people anymore, but it would be nice to be as it was once before where a man’s word was his bond and a simple handshake was enough to o hire someone to do their work because you knew they were trustworthy.

Prayer:

Father, help me to be trustworthy with everything You put in my hands.  I want to live a life of excellence in every area and a life that makes You look good.  Help me today to walk in integrity and excellence in every area.  Help me to do the right thing, even when that is not convenient.

Your Son,

Jeff
