Scripture:
“Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness.” Isaiah 51:11 NLT
Observation:
This verse tells us that those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return with singing and everlasting joy. Those who have been ransomed will have no sorrow or mourning, rather, they will be filled with joy and gladness. Although this verse is directed at Israel, it covers us also as having been ransomed, or bought back, by the Lord.
Application:
Sorrow and mourning are not our future. They will pass away when we are the children of the Lord and walk in His ways. Rather, we will be filled with joy and gladness according to this verse. Joy and gladness is a choice we must make. We are not in control of what happens to us, but we are in control of how we respond and whether we will walk in joy and gladness or sorrow and mourning. I choose JOY this morning.
Prayer:
Father, I am the ransomed of the Lord. You paid a great price for my salvation and I want to return to the joy of the Lord and away from sorrow and mourning. I choose YOU today and I choose JOY today. Fill me with the joy of Your salvation and let my life shine for You today. Let my joy be contagious today.
Yours Forever,
Jeff
