Scripture:
“But though they thunder like breakers on a beach, God will silence them, and they will run away. They will flee like chaff scattered by the wind, like a tumbleweed whirling before a storm.” Isaiah 17:13 NLT
Observation:
Isaiah is speaking here about the enemies of Israel thundering against them and instilling fear. He continues by saying that God will silence them and make them run away like chaff or tumbleweed. In other words, they may sound terrifying, but God will blow them away.
Application:
Sometimes in our lives, the enemy tries to make things seem insurmountable. He will thunder through situations and circumstances that you will never survive. The reality is that God can, and will, blow his attacks away like chaff or tumbleweed. Satan’s attacks on us always appear bigger than they are, but God can blow Satan away like the wind blows tumbleweed.
Prayer:
Father, let me walk in confidence that You are my defender and that, no matter how loud the enemy roars, You will blow him away. When the enemy comes in, like a flood, raise up a standard against him in my life. Let me know that You will blow away my enemies and prosper my life. When the enemy roars loud, roar louder.
Your Son Forever,
Jeff
