God Gets His Point Across

Scripture:

II Kings 17:25  "At the beginning of their living there, they did not fear the Lord; therefore the Lord sent lions among them which killed some of them".

Observation:

God has always wanted His people to serve Him wholeheartedly.  He desires a people who are completely His and do things His way instead of the ways of man.  He had told them to worship and serve Him alone, yet they didn't do it.  When they didn't, God sent lions among which killed some of them.  They still didn't get the point.

Application:

Sometimes, even when God makes His point very clear, we do our own thing.  God shouldn't need to send lions into our lives to get us to do things His way.  He is good at getting His point across, but we are not good at doing what He says.  We need to learn to fully and completely follow the Lord.  his way is best and our understanding is lacking.

Prayer:

Lord God Almighty, help me to follow Your voice at all times and to do what You say.  I don't want You to have to send lions or any other thing to get my attention.  Let my attention be on You alone.  Open my eyes to see and my ears to hear Your voice.  You are amazing!
