The Jealousy of the Enemy

Scripture:

Exodus 12:32  "Take your flocks and herds, as you said, and be gone.  Go, but bless me as you leave."

Observation:

Pharaoh had seen God Almighty bring ten plagues on his people.  He had seen the signs and wonders of the God of Israel, yet he wouldn't turn and let God's people go.  Finally, after the last plague and when the entire nation lost their firstborn sons, he let them go saying, "Go, but bless me as you leave".  He knew that he wanted their God to show in him favor.

Application:

God is so powerful he makes our enemies jealous.  Pharaoh was one of the mightiest men in the world at that time and his will was extremely strong in defying Israel's God.  God showed himself stronger to the point where Pharaoh gives in.  He even asks them, after ten plagues and much trouble on his nation, to bless Egypt on their way out.  Even our enemies will be jealous when they see all God does in our lives.

Prayer:

Father, show yourself strong enough in my life that your enemies ask me to bless them.  Demonstrate your power in my generation so that the world will become jealous of those who follow Christ.  Bless Your people so strong that people see your awesomeness and want a blessing as well.

Your Son,
Jeff
