YET

Scripture:

Jeremiah 48:47 "Yet I will bring back the captives of Moab in the latter days, says the Lord. Thus far is the judgment of Moab".

Observation:

Chapter 48 of Jeremiah is a word about he destruction of Moab. It is a lengthy discourse about how Moab would be utterly destroyed. It is a lengthy chapter full of terrible things that are going to befall Moab. The very last verse of the chapter says "YET" I will bring back the captives of Moab. After spending much time ranting about the destruction coming, God puts in a little word "YET".

Application:

In reading my daily was this year, it has really stood out to me that God in the O.T. pronounces much judgment on His people and the surrounding nations. Usually at the end of it, there will be a "YET" letting us know that it is only temporary and that God will restore them. God's heart of love and compassion will let bad things happen in our lives, yet, at some point, He always brings us out. Before we ever go through the fire, He has our exit plan established. God always has a "YET" for our lives.

Prayer:

Father, I see You in the OT as God of fierce judgment, "YET" in every place, You already have a plan for their restoration. While prophesying doom and gloom You always add in a "YET" and talk about their return and re-establishment. Thank you for showing me that You can be trusted when things are difficult. You are the best!

Jeff
