Turn Back and Live!

Scripture:

Ezekiel 18:32 "I don't want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!"

Observation:

Ezekiel has been prophesying the destruction of God's people for being like prostitutes and running after other gods. They were worshiping false gods and even sacrificing their children to them. God speaks here about holding sins against people who turn around and repent. He says that judgment is coming, but turn back and live. When we get off track with God, we must be quick to hear His voice and turn back to him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. This brings life!

Application:

Sometimes when we mess up in life, we don't want to approach God because we know we have blown it. We try to hide the sin or act like everything is okay when it isn't. God sees all and He would rather you face it, deal with it, repent and then He will bring life. He tells us to "turn back and live!" Life is in Him. Joy is in Him. Strength is in Him. Always turn to Him and not away! He is waiting for us.

Prayer:

Lord, keep my heart pure before You. You are awesome and I give you praise! Let me hear Your voice speak to me when I mess up and let me quickly run back to You. It is true that repentance bring life. Let me always be quick to repent and not allow pride to keep me from You. You are the best!
