Scripture:
Isaiah 24:16 "We hear songs of praise from the ends of the earth, songs that give glory to the Righteous One".
Observation:
Isaiah has been prophesying about destruction coming on Jerusalem, Tyre, and to the ends of the earth. At the end he sees the earth and it is desolate. There are few people left and the earth was ravaged. A remnant survives and the prophet declares that praise is arising from the ends of the earth giving God glory. He realizes that a remnant held onto the Lord their God and the remnant was around the world.
Application:
Sometimes we feel like the whole world is going to hell and there are none left that love the Lord. Elijah felt like he was the only one left serving God, but God told him there were 7000 who would not bow their knee. In the midst of a culture that seems to be going downhill at a great rate and people that don't want to serve the God of their fathers, realize that there is a remnant who are going after God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. Continue to praise Him, you are not alone!!!
Prayer:
Lord, help me to see the bigger picture. Help me to see that your people are still praising You and that You are still in control, even when it looks like the enemy is running over our land. Thank You for reminding me that there is a remnant of those who will still be praising You through absolutely anything. May Your Name be glorified in all the earth. You are worthy of all praise, glory and honor.
Jeff
