Scripture:
“Amaziah asked the man of God, “But what about all that silver I paid to hire the army of Israel?” The man of God replied, “The Lord is able to give you much more than this!””
2 Chronicles 25:9 NLT
Observation:
Amaziah had hired 100,000 troops from Israel to help him protect Judah. The Lord spoke to the king through the prophet and told him to send them home. The king said, “What about all that silver I paid to hire the army of Israel?” The man of God told him, “The Lord is able to give you much more than this!”
Application:
When we do things God’s way, we get God’s results. When we obey the Lord instead of doing what we think will work out, He is able to give us much more than we can ask, think or imagine. Learning to trust God over our own minds is a huge step. I need to trust God more and more and trust myself less and less. God’s ways don’t always make sense to us, but He knows better than us what needs to happen at all times.
Prayer:
Father, help me to trust you instead of leaning on my own understanding. Help me to obey You, even when it doesn’t make sense. Teach me to hear Your voice clearly and do as You say on a daily basis. I want to see Your will be done in and through my life.

Speak What God is Saying
Scripture:
“But Micaiah replied, “As surely as the Lord lives, I will say only what my God says.””
2 Chronicles 18:13 NLT
Observation:
Micaiah was bold and prophesied some very harsh things, but he was determined not to be influenced by money, prestige, etc. He simply wanted to honor the Lord and speak what God was truly saying. He didn’t cave in and tell the king what he wanted to hear, but told him exactly what the Lord was truly saying.
Application:
God needs some more Micaiahs. He needs some men and women who will stand up and declare what He is saying to our generation. I need to be one of those that the Lord can trust with His message. I need to declare what He is saying and not what will make me popular or build my church. I want to be more like Micaiah who wouldn’t sell out, even if it meant death or imprisonment.
Prayer:
Father, empower me with Your Spirit to speak accurately on Your behalf. Open my ears to hear Your voice and my eyes to see what You are doing. Help me to follow You and Your words with all my heart and to speak what You are speaking. Make me bold and confident when I hear from You.

The Enemy Will Not Succeed
Scripture:
“So you see, God is with us. He is our leader. His priests blow their trumpets and lead us into battle against you. O people of Israel, do not fight against the Lord, the God of your ancestors, for you will not succeed!””
2 Chronicles 13:12 NLT
Observation:
We are told here that God was with Judah and was their leader. They had not walked away from Him and were still following His words. Therefore, the king had confidence that God would fight their battles. He told Israel not to fight against them because they would not succeed because Israel was trusting in gods made with their own hands.
Application:
When we do things God’s way, we get God results. When we follow the Lord as He wants us to follow Him, our enemies will not be victorious. We must trust the Lord completely and walk in His ways, then our enemies will be routed and we will walk in His victory. He is able to defeat every enemy, he just needs us to live lives that honor and please Him.
Prayer:
Father, Once again I give you my life. I am Yours. I want to hear the prophetic voice of my God. I want to see You, know You, hear You and walk with You. Open my eyes to see and my spiritual ears to hear what You are saying at all times. I love You with all my heart. Thank you for working with us in the Dominican Republic and touching many lives. You are awesome.

Guarding the Tabernacle
Scripture:
“Shallum was the son of Kore, a descendant of Abiasaph, from the clan of Korah. He and his relatives, the Korahites, were responsible for guarding the entrance to the sanctuary, just as their ancestors had guarded the Tabernacle in the camp of the Lord.”
1 Chronicles 9:19 NLT
Observation:
The Korahites, at this time in history, were responsible for guarding the entrance to the sanctuary, just as their ancestors had guarded the Tabernacle. Their job was to make sure nobody entered who was unworthy and that nobody could come to destroy the Temple. They were highly respected for their job of guarding the Temple from anyone who wasn’t suppose to go in there.
Application:
The Holy Spirit lives within us as His people. Paul says that our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. We must learn to guard the Holy Spirit within us as the Korites guarded the Temple. We need to guard our mind, soul, body, etc. from allowing anything in that the Holy Spirit wouldn’t want in. We now are the guardians of the presence of the Lord. We must protect Him living within us. We must make sure nothing enters us that is not of God.
Prayer:
Father, purify my life. Help me to walk in righteousness and let it be a guard around me. I want to guard my heart and mind from anything you don’t want there. Help me to be a better Temple Guard physically as well.

Favor isn’t Fair
Scripture:
“These six sons were born to David in Hebron, where he reigned seven and a half years. Then David reigned another thirty-three years in Jerusalem. The sons born to David in Jerusalem included Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon. Their mother was Bathsheba, the daughter of Ammiel.”
1 Chronicles 3:4-5 NLT
Observation:
From reading the genealogy of David as recorded in I Chronicles, Solomon was probably about the 11th son of David in succession order. Chronicles doesn’t exactly say this was the chronological order, but it does name his first sons who were born before he moved to Jerusalem. Solomon was still well down the list of David’s sons, but favor was on his life. In a king’s house, succession and birth order is everything, but not so with King David. He broke the rules and gave favor to Solomon.
Application:
Favor isn’t fair. When God’s favor is on someone’s life, they will experience favor that can’t be explained except that God intervened in their life. If God can bypass 11 sons and make Solomon king after David, He can place His favor on my life and allow me to be blessed whether I deserve it or not. God can do whatever He wants to do. I want His favor on my life.
Prayer:
Father, I want to walk in Your favor and blessing every day of my life. I want to follow You wholeheartedly. Let my life please You and place Your hand of blessing on everything I do. Bless my upcoming trip to Dominican Republic. Let Your kingdom be advanced in that nation as a result of us being there. Let Your favor be upon us for great things in DR.

Overflow
Scripture:
“Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.”
2 Corinthians 9:8 TPT
Observation:
Paul is telling the Corinthians that as they are generous in their giving, God will bless their lives overwhelmingly. He tells them God is more than ready to overwhelm them in every form of grace and that they will have more than enough of everything.
Application:
Do I really believe God is more than enough and that He will overwhelm me with His abundance of every good thing. I think sometimes I set my sights too low and don’t believe God will really bless me like I know He can. I have seen Him do it for others, and even in my own life at times, but I tend to live like I’m not expecting the overflow of God’s goodness.
Prayer:
Father, You are the giver of every good and perfect gift. As we have been faithful to give more and more, will You open the windows of heaven over my family and let us see the overflow of Your goodness. We need a house with main level living and bedrooms on the main level. Overflow and let this come to pass and we will give You praise.

Excel in Generosity

“You do well and excel in every respect—in unstoppable faith, in powerful preaching, in revelation knowledge, in your passionate devotion, and in sharing the love we have shown to you. So make sure that you also excel in grace-filled generosity.”
2 Corinthians 8:7 TPT
Observation:
Paul is writing and commending the Corinthians about their gifts and giving, and encouraging them to continue and increase their giving. He told them that they excel in unstoppable faith, powerful preaching, revelation knowledge, and passionate devotion. Then he told them to also excel in grace-filled generosity.
Application:
As I read this today, I desire to give more and more through my personal life and through our church. I want to excel in grace-filled generosity. I want God to bless my life so that I can be a blessing to others. I desire to be a vessel God can give and help people through at ever-increasing measure.
Prayer:
God, You know my heart. I long to be in a place of being able to help more and more people. I want to walk in a higher level of generosity. Increase my faith. Bless my life more and more so I have enough to meet my needs and to be a blessing to others. Open the windows of heaven over my life, Word of Life and Hearts for the Harvest.
