Scripture:
“Mordecai the Jew became the prime minister, with authority next to that of King Xerxes himself. He was very great among the Jews, who held him in high esteem, because he continued to work for the good of his people and to speak up for the welfare of all their descendants.” Esther 10:3 NLT
Observation:
Mordecai, Esther’s uncle who raised her and who sat at the gate of the palace, became prime minister of Persia, the most powerful country in the world at that time. He was a lonely Jew destined for destruction, but as he remained faithful to God and his people, God placed him in the second most powerful position in the world. He simply wanted to work for his people and make sure they were okay, and God raised him up.
Application:
When we are passionate about what God is passionate about, He will put us in places to make a difference. Just as Mordecai was a simple man who stood for his people, we must be upset with what upsets God. We must be passionate about what He is passionate about. When we give our lives to serving others, God works around us to put us in positions to make the most impact.
Prayer:
Father, let me be passionate about what You are passionate about. Help me to love what You love and hate what You hate. Teach me to walk in Your truth and help me to help others. Let my life be used for Your glory and the extension of Your kingdom. Fill me with Your Spirit and use my life.
Yours,
Jeff
