The Overflowing Life

Scripture:

“Glorify God with all your wealth, honoring him with your very best, with every increase that comes to you. Then every dimension of your life will overflow with blessings from an uncontainable source of inner joy!”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:9-10‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

In this passage Solomon tells us that honoring God with the very best of all of our wealth will cause every area of our lives to overflow with the blessing of inner joy.  It seems like joy would come from spending money on yourselves, but I have found that generous people are happy people.

Application:

I want to live a generous life.  I want to honor God with my wealth and resources.  I want my church to be a place that honors God with its money and resources, then we will be blessed with an uncontainable source of inner joy.

Prayer:

Lord God Almighty, help me to live a generous life and to walk in the blessing of overflowing joy.  Bless my life that I may be a greater source of blessing to others.  Increase my wealth and I will use it to advance Your kingdom.  Help me to live generously with everything You give, for You are my source of all that I have.

Resist Revenge

Scripture:

“Resist revenge, and make sure that no one pays back evil in place of evil but always pursue doing what is beautiful to one another and to all the unbelievers.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:15‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Paul tells the Thessalonians that they should resist revenge and not pay people back when they do us wrong.  He goes on to say that we should pursue doing what is beautiful to people.  Revenge is for God to take care of, not us.  We are to be a blessing to everyone, even those who say bad things about us and treat us poorly.  We are to treat people beautifully.

Application:

It is easy to get hurt and want to pay people back for what they have done to us.  It is much better to take the high road of love and learn to love people who hurt us and treat us wrongly.  God is love and we should be people who walk in His love at all times, even when we have been hurt.  We can only do this by yielding to the Holy Spirit.

Prayer:

Father, help me to love those who hurt me and say bad things about me.  Teach me to yield more completely to your Spirit.  I can quote that “God is love”, but I want to live a life where people would say, “Jeff is love”.  Let me be more like You every day.

Yours,
Jeff

Close to His Heart

Scripture:

“He anoints his people with strength and authority, showing his great favor to all his godly lovers, even to his princely people, Israel, who are so close to his heart. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭148:14‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

In this passage, the Psalmist tells us that God anoints his people with strength, authority, and favor.  He goes on the say that we are close to His heart.  It closes with the highest praise “Hallelujah”.  This is written to Israel, but we have been grafted into the family so it pertains to us as well.

Application:

I need to understand more deeply just how much the Lord loves us and how close I am to His heart.  I  know as a father, how close my sons are to my heart.  I know I would give them anything I have and love to bless them as much as possible.  I am a lover of God and therefore, I should expect to be anointed with strength, authority and favor.

Prayer:

Father, help to be grounded deeper in Your love than ever before.  Let me understand the depths of Your goodness and kindness to me.  Anoint my life with strength, authority and favor today and I will sing hallelujah.  Help me to realize that You have given me a place as a prince in Your kingdom.  I am the child of the King.  Let favor one stronger and stronger in my life.

Tell The World

Scripture:

“Everything you have made will praise you, fulfilling its purpose. And all your godly lovers will be found bowing before you. They will tell the world of the lavish splendor of your kingdom and preach about your limitless power.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭145:10-11‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

The Psalmist says here that everything will praise the Lord, which is it’s purpose.  In other words, the purpose of everything is to praise God.  It goes on to say that all of the lovers of God will tell the world bout God and preach about His limitless power.  We were made to worship God and tell of His wonderful works.

Application:

Our purpose is to worship God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength.  He want us to worship Him and tell the world about him and his awesome power.  We must learn to be about our Father’s business at all times.  Our lives should be live of worship and praise for all the Lord has done for us.  I need to stay focused on Him throughout the day every day.

Prayer:

Father, You are worthy of my very best.  You are my strength and my deliverer.  Help me to to fulfill my purpose in giving Your praise.  Help me to never stop bowing before You.  Enable me to tell the world about your incredible Kingdom. And to preach about Your power.  When I preach it, please come and demonstrate Your power in the places I preach. Confirm Your word with signs following.

Fresh Courage

Scripture:

“At the very moment I called out to you, you answered me! You strengthened me deep within my soul and breathed fresh courage into me.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭138:3‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

In this text, King David says that precisely when he called out to the Lord, He answered.  He also understood that it was God who strengthened him and gave him courage.  He went so far as to say that God stepped in at the very moment he called out.  From the Psalms I have seen that God moves, “at the moment” His people cry out to Him.

Application:

Just like David received courage and strength from the Lord, I want the same.   I want to live in strong confidence in the Lord.  During this prayer and fasting season we have been crying out daily to the Lord for Him to move.  At the moment we cried out, He was working.  As we finish the fast, I want to see answers in my life, my church and my region.

Prayer:

Lord, I will continue to call out to You.  Answer the cry of Your servant today.  Strengthen me in my soul and breathe fresh courage into my life.  I am Yours and want to represent You well.  Teach me to hear Your voice clearly and to follow You completely.  Hear my cry to “Fill the House” in the coming weeks.  Let more souls be saved in September than ever before.

Your Son,

Jeff

Chosen

Scripture:

“He’s the God who chose us when we were nothing! His tender love for us continues on forever! He has rescued us from the power of our enemies! His tender love for us continues on forever!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭136:23-24‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

The Psalmist here tells us that God chose us when we were nothing!  We had nothing to offer Him, but He chose us.  He goes on the say that He rescued us from the power of our enemies.  In each verse of this chapter, he reminds us that the tender love of God continues forever.

Application:

We must realize that we didn’t choose Christ, He chose us when we were nothing at all.  We had no worth without Him, yet He chose us.  I need to be reminded that God’s tender love endures forever.  He is faithful!  Based on this verse, I need to thank God daily for choosing me, calling me, rescuing me from my enemies, and for loving me faithfully, not matter what is going on around me.

Prayer:

Father, You are incredibly faithful and loving.  Thank You for choosing me and setting my life apart for Your service.  You have blessed me over and over and I want to say thanks.  You have rescued me so many times when I have messed up.  Thank You for being my Father.

Yours,
Jeff

Never Offended

Scripture:

“There is such a great peace and well-being that comes to the lovers of your word, and they will never be offended.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:165‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

The Psalmist declares here that there is incredible peace and over all well-being for those who love the Word of God.  He goes on to say that they will never be offended.  In other words, the more of the word we have in our lives, the less likely we are to be offended.  The word builds us up and strengthens us relationally.

Application:

I want to be a lover of God’s Word more and more.  I want to know His thoughts and precepts like the Psalmist cried out throughout the chapter.  I want to live above offense in my life and to do that, I need to fall in love with God’s word.  It will also bring the peace and well-being I desire.  I need to be more faithful in my daily washes.

Prayer:

Father, help me to walk in Your word continually.  Let me never take Your word as a simple discipline that must be adhered to every day.  Let me love Your word like the author of Psalm 119.  Take me deeper and make me a stronger teach of Your Word.

Yours Forever,
Jeff

Joyous Sacrifice

Scripture:

“For the Lord our God has brought us his glory-light. I offer him my life in joyous sacrifice. Tied tightly to your altar I will bring you praise. For you are the God of my life and I lift you high, exalting you to the highest place.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭118:27-28‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

In this passage, the Psalmist says that he offers his life in joyous sacrifice.  He goes on to say that he will bring God praise while tied tightly to his altar.  He understood that God always responds to the sacrifice of praise.  He didn’t offer a bull or a goat, he knew to offer God his life and he was going to stay in that place of sacrifice because he had tied himself symbolically to the altar.

Application:

We need to tie our lives to the God’s altar and live there.  Paul told us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable.  God has done so much for us, He deserves our sacrifice of praise and a life that brings Him glory.  We should live as a constant offering to the Lord.  We must realize that our lives are not our own, but belong to Him.

Prayer:

Lord God, You have done so much for me.  You have saved me, healed me, helped me out so many times.  You are my rock and my salvation.  You are the strength of my life.  I lay my life down before You and I tie myself to Your altar.  My life belongs to You.  Help me to live a life of praise that lifts up Your name in all the earth.

Yours,
Jeff

The Turn Around God

Scripture:

“He promotes the poor, picking them up from the dirt, and rescues the needy from the garbage dump. He turns paupers into princes and seats them on their royal thrones of honor.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭113:7-8‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

In this passage, the author tells us that God promotes the poor and rescues the needy.  He turns paupers into princes.  Only God can turn things around like this.  God can take a life that is at the bottom of society and turn it into something great.  Only God is able to do this.

Application:

When I see people, I must see them as God sees them.  I must learn to see what they can become if God gets ahold of their lives.  I personally want to see God begin to rescue more and more people.  I want to see lives changed.  God specializes in turning lives around.  I want to see Him transform more and more lives by the power of His Spirit.

Prayer:

God, it is You who turn lives around and bring transformation.  I want to see the world reconciled back to You.  Pour out Your Spirit in my generation and begin to restore people.  Turn lives around at my church, in my neighborhood, in my region and in the world.  I want to see a revival of lives being changed for Your glory.

Your Son,
Jeff

Go Ahead and Tell the World

Scripture:

“So, go ahead—let everyone know it! Tell the world how he broke through and delivered you from the power of darkness and has gathered us together from all over the world. He has set us free to be his very own!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭107:2-3‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Here, the Psalmist speaks and tells God’s people to go ahead and tell the whole world how God broke through and delivered them from the power of darkness.  He told them to go ahead and tell the world how God had gathered them together from all over the world and has set them free to be His very own.  The Psalmist wanted the world to know how good God is and we should be the same.

Application:

God has always desired a people who will be His very own.  He has always cried out for the people where He could be their God and they would be His people.  God gave His very Son to make that happen and then entrusted us to tell the world.  We are to tell the world how God delivered us from the power of darkness and gathered us to Himself.  God has done His part, now we must do our part.

Prayer:

Lord God Almighty, You are amazing and I love You with all my heart.  Let my life be about the extension of Your kingdom in the earth.  I want the whole world to know Your faithfulness and goodness.  Open the right doors for me to be part of kingdom expansion in the earth.  I desire to fulfill the heart of the Psalmist.  I want to let the whole world know about You.  Empower me to do it and show me the way forward.

Yours Forever,
Jeff

Seek Him More

Scripture:

Psalm 105:4-5  "Seek more of His strength!  Seek more of Him!  Let's always be seeking the light of His face.  Don't you ever forget His miracles and marvels.  Hold your heart to every judgment He has decreed."  (TPT)

Observation:

In this passage, the Psalmist tells God's people to seek more of His strength and more of Him.  He says we should always be seeking the light of His face.  He goes on to tell us that we shouldn't ever forget Gods' miracles and marvels.

Application:

In much of the church world today, most of what we do as a church is possible without God's intervention.  As for me, I want to always be reliant on God's strength, God's power and God's intervention.  I want to seek more of His strength and more of Him.  When He fills us with more of Himself and more of His strength, our lives will be so different.  I need to see God move stronger in my generation.  I know there is more that God wants to do in the earth.  I'm crying out for MORE!

Prayer:

Father, You have put a desire in my heart for MORE.  I want more of You in my life.  More of You and Your strength in my family, my church, my region and in my country.  I want to be strong in You.  I want to see the light of your face as the Psalmist said.  I want to know You deeply and intimately.  I want to walk with You more closely.  I want MORE!

Yours,
Jeff

Now is the Time

Scripture:

“I know you are about to arise and show your tender love to Zion. Now is the time, Lord, for your compassion and mercy to be poured out— the appointed time has come for your prophetic promises to be fulfilled!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭102:13‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

The Psalmist is speaking to God and tells Him he KNOWS God is about to rise up and show His love to Zion.  He goes on to say that NOW is the time for God’s compassion and mercy to be poured out.  He was demonstrating faith to God that His promises would be fulfilled and that they would be fulfilled soon.  He spoke out his faith to the Lord, believing that God’s appointed time was NOW.

Application:

When God gives a word to us prophetically, we always want it to be now, but sometimes God shows us things to come way before they come.  There I always an appointed time when God will do what He says He will do, our job is to be able to discern it.  When God has spoken, we can speak out by faith that the fulfillment time is now here.

Prayer:

Father, You have promised so much in my life lifetime.  I believe with all my heart the time is NOW for the fulfillment of the prophetic words given over my life, my family, my church and the revival prophesied over our region.  I believe the time is NOW and I am looking for You to begin saving, healing, delivering and changing countless lives for Your glory.

Your Miracles

Scripture:

“Let us see your miracles again, and let the rising generation see the glorious wonders you’re famous for.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭90:16‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Throughout history, God has been praised for His mighty miracles.  Israel constantly looks back to the crossing of the Red Sea and the plagues in Egypt.  New Testament demonstrates the miracles of Jesus and the early church.  Church history is full of miraculous interventions of God.  He is the god of miracles.

Application:

I want to see God’s miracles again and, with the Psalmist, I want the rising generation to see God’s miracles and wonders.  I am hungry to see God move in such a way that nobody can deny He is at work.  I long to see God operate in people’s lives in such miraculous ways that there is no doubt that He is in  our midst.  I long to see God’s miracles again.

Prayer:

Lord God Almighty, You are the God of miracles.  I have seen many of Your miracles, but I want my generation and the generation that follows to see the miracles of God again.  I want them to see You are alive and well and working on behalf of Your people.  Let You miracles flow more and more.  I want to see things that nobody can get credit for but You.  Make Your name famous with Your mighty works.  Move powerfully in my life, my home, my church and my region.

Yours,
Jeff

Revive Us Again

Scripture:

“Revive us again, O God! I know you will! Give us a fresh start! Then all your people will taste your joy and gladness.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭85:6‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

This Psalm is simply a cry to the Lord to revive His people.  His people had moved away from Him and His ways.  To revive means to resuscitate or to bring back to life.  He realized that separation from God brings death and wanted God to revive his people.  He followed that by saying, “I know You will.”  Here I see confidence that his prayers will be answered.

Application:

There are areas in my life that are not as alive as they once were spiritually.  Sometimes we go through dry seasons that don’t seem to have as much life in them.  We must cry out for God to revive us and give us a fresh start.  We can’t let our relationship with Him ever grow cold or stale.  We want to walk in joy and gladness.

Prayer:

Father, revive my life.  Revive my city.  Revive my church.  Revive my family.  Revive us again.   I know You will do it again.  I’m looking for the outpouring of Your Spirit that is coming that will revive the working of Your Spirit in my region.  Let You Church experience a fresh start and let Your people have joy and gladness again.  Fill Your house!

Jeff

Hero, Come Rescue Us

Scripture:

“Our hero, come and rescue us! O God of the breakthrough, for the glory of your name, come and help us! Forgive and restore us; heal us and cover us in your love.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭79:9‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

In this passage, the Psalmist cries out to God his hero to come and rescue his people.  He calls Him God of breakthrough and then tells him that for the glory of His name He should come help them.  He continues to ask the Lord to forgive, restore, heal and cover them in God’s love.

Application:

When a nation turns it’s back on God, there are devastating results.  We, as God’s children, must follow the pattern of the Psalmist and cry out to God to come and rescue us.  We must see God as our hero, the one we call on when we are in trouble.  Instead of learning on our own wisdom and understanding, we need to cry out to God.  He knows exactly what we need at every moment.  We must cry out on behalf of our nation and seek the Living God.

Prayer:

Father, forgive us, restore us, rescue us, heal us, and cover us in Your incredible love.  You are amazing and I want my life to honor You.  You are our hero and our deliverer.  I trust You.  In my life, my family, my region, and my world, be lifted high.  Let Your name be lifted high in every nation of the earth.  Let America see revival and restoration.

Yours,
Jeff

My Praise has Power

Scripture:

“My praises will break the powers of wickedness while the righteous will be promoted and become powerful!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭75:10‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

The Psalmist declares in this passage that his praises would break the powers of wickedness while the righteous will be promoted and become powerful.  Praise is a very powerful weapon in the hands of God.  He goes on to talk about the righteous and says they will be promoted and become powerful.  Righteousness brings blessings!

Application:

I want my life to be a life of praise.  Praise confuses the enemy of our soul.  Praise lifts up the Lord our God and scatters our enemies.  When we praise, the power of darkness and wickedness are broken.  Maybe instead of yelling at the darkness, we just need to praise God more and more.  I also want to see promotion for God’s people.  As we praise and give God all the glory and honor, He will raise us up as a testimony to Himself.

Prayer:

Lord, let my life bring Your praise.  Let me always have Your praise on my lips.  Your re worthy of the highest praise and honor.  You are all-powerful and all-knowing.  You know exactly what I need at all times.  Help me to live a life of praise that You can raise up.

Your Son,
Jeff

Give Me Grace

Scripture:

“God, now that I’m old and gray, don’t walk away. Give me grace to demonstrate to the next generation all your mighty miracles and your excitement, to show them your magnificent power!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭71:18‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

In This Psalm, the Psalmist says that he is old he doesn’t want God to walk away, but to give him grace to demonstrate God’s power to the next generation.  He desired to show them the mighty miracles and magnificent power of God.

Application:

Christianity is always only one generation from extinction.  Each generation must see a move of God in the earth or it is in danger of becoming simply a religion.  My prayer is that I would be a bridge to the next generation of the power and presence of God.  I want our young people to experience God’s awesome power and glory.  One taste of that and they will never be satisfied with the things of this world.

Prayer:

God, once again I offer You my life and ask You to let me be a bridge to the next generation.  Let them experience You and see Your mighty works.  I ask You to pour out Your Spirit in ways that nobody and deny.  I ask You to let the younger generation sees Your incredible power.  Heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils in my generation and let the next generation observe and experience it.

Yours,
Jeff

Send Us Out!

Scripture:

“Send us out all over the world so that everyone everywhere will discover your ways and know who you are and see your power to save.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭67:2‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Here the Psalmist calls out to the Lord and tells Him to sent us out all over the world so the world can know Him and His ways.  He wanted the world to know who God is and to see God’s power to save.  God had touched his life so much that he wanted the world to experience what he had experience in God.

Application:

As we enter this fasting and prayer season, may this be the cry of my heart.  I want to be sent in this season to share the Good News of Christ with as many people as possible.  I want people to see God’s power to save, heal, deliver and set free.  I want to be free from anything that holds me back from being a good witness to God’s power and strength.

Prayer:

Lord, send me out all over the world so everyone everywhere will discover your ways and know who you are and see your power to save.  Let my life be used to bring others into relationship with You.  I want the world to see Your power and goodness.  As Isaiah said, “Here am I.  Lord send me.”

Jeff

My Strength is not my Own

Scripture:

“My strength is found when I wait upon you. Watch over me, God, for you are my mountain fortress; you set me on high!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭59:9‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

The Psalmist in this passage declares that his strength was found, not in himself, but in waiting upon the Lord.  He realized that he was powerless without the Lord.  He realized it was God who was his mountain fortress and that it was God who set him on high.  His strength was not self gained, but came from waiting on the Lord.

Application:

Waiting on God can be the most frustrating thing these days because we like to get business done precisely when there is a problem.  Waiting for a solution makes us want to make something happen on our own.  We have learned to achieve just about anything we want without His intervention.  Therefore, it is harder to wait on Him for Him to move than it is to step in and fix things on our own.

Prayer:

Lord, teach me to wait patiently for You to take care of things in my life.  Help me to not move on because things are not going the way I would like.  I want You to be the center and the source of my life.  I don’t want to go ahead of You, but I want You to lead me and I will follow.  Forgive me for the times I have stepped ahead of You and taken action because I didn’t see anything happen.  I want to be completely Yours.

Your Forever,
Jeff

Trust in God’s Unending Love

Scripture:

“But I am like a flourishing olive tree, anointed in the house of God. I trust in the unending love of God; his passion toward me is forever and ever.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭52:8‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

In this verse, you can see the confidence the author has in the unending love of God and what it produces in his life.  He was confident that God’s love and passion toward him was forever and ever and this caused him to be like a flourishing olive tree, anointed in the house of God.

Application:

Knowing you are loved has a very strong ability to make you confident in life.  When you know you are loved, you have the confidence to face whatever you are going through.  When we don’t think we are loved, the enemy wreaks havoc in our lives.  We can have extreme confidence as believers that God has unending, passionate, love for us.  We can be strong, anointed, and flourish, not because of our perfections, but because of His grace and love.  Our confidence cannot be in ourselves and our abilities, but in the love of God.

Prayer:

Lord, I know I have a tendency to walk on a performance treadmill.  Let me grow more and more confident in your love, especially in the fact that I can’t earn it, deserve it, and cannot work hard enough for it.  Your grace is truly amazing.  Help me to live a flourishing, anointed life because I know Your love for me.

Your Son,
Jeff

God Will Break Through

Scripture:

“So I say to my soul, “Don’t be discouraged. Don’t be disturbed. For I know my God will break through for me.” Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again. Yes, living before his face is my saving grace!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭42:11‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

The Psalmist here speaks to his own soul and declares to himself, “Don’t be discouraged.   Don’t be disturbed.  For I know my God will break through for me.”  He had no doubt that God would break through and give him reasons to praise Him again.  He spoke peace to his soul because he knew his God.

Application:

When things are crazy around us, God is faithful.  When our soul is shaken, upset, and feeling like there is no hope, God is still on the throne.  When things get frustrating, I need to speak to my own soul and tell it to calm down because God will break through the current situations of life.  He is all-powerful and I can trust Him.  Therefore, I can tell my mind, will and emotions to calm down because God will take care of it.

Prayer:

Father, teach me to trust You more and more.  Help me to know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that You will break through and fix the messes in my life.  Help me to know, like the Psalmist, that You are going to step in and bring deliverance.  My life is Yours and I trust You.  When my soul is shaken, help me to speak to it from my knowledge of who You are.

Yours,
Jeff

God’s Conviction

Scripture:

“For the arrows of your conviction have pierced me deeply. Your blows have struck my soul and crushed me.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭38:2‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

The Psalmist here states the the arrows of God’s conviction had pierced him deeply and His blows had struck his soul and crushed him.  This is true conviction for sin.  David felt conviction for his sin very deep and strong.  When he messed up, he knew how to come back to God in humility and brokenness.

Application:

It seems today that there is less and less conviction for sin that people feel.  We need to learn from David what sin does to our lives and our relationship with the Lord.  It separates us from Him and that is the worst thing that could ever happen.  We must ask God to strengthen our conviction level to feel what He feels and to respond appropriately.  Personally, I want to see conviction fall on people once again in the presence of God so that they will repent quickly and strongly for their sins.  I want to feel convicted strongly again personally.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, convict me of sin and wrongdoing.  Convict me when I am walking in any way that displeases You.  I want to be sensitive to You and Your voice.  When I mess up, I want to feel what David felt.  I want to please You Lord with my life.  Show me when I mess up quickly and let my heart be ready to repent and turn to You.

Yours,
Jeff

To Know You

Scripture:

“To know you is to experience a flowing fountain, drinking in your life, springing up to satisfy. In your light we receive the light of revelation.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭36:9‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Here the Psalmist says that to know God is to experience a flowing fountain.  He describes it as us drinking in God’s life that springs up to satisfy us.  He goes on to say that in His light, we receive the light of revelation.

Application:

I want God’s life to flow through my life like a flowing fountain.  I want to drink in his life and I want His life to flow from me like a rushing mighty river.  I want the life of God to spring up and satisfy the thirsty around me.  I need to connect closer and closer to the Lord and ask Him to let his fountain flow in me and out of me at greater and greater levels.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, fill my life completely.  Let Your living water flow out of my life to everyone around me.  Fill me with You Spirit more and more each day.  Let me speak Your words.  Let Your life flow through mine.  Let Your river spring up within me to bring everlasting life everywhere I go.  Help me to discern Your voice more and more and fulfill Your plans for my life.

Your Son,
Jeff

Scripture:

“So may the words of my mouth, my meditation-thoughts, and every movement of my heart be always pure and pleasing, acceptable before your eyes, my only Redeemer, my Protector-God.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭19:14‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

The Psalmist here describes his desire to be pure before the Lord in thought, word, and intentions of the heart.  He wanted everything in his life to be acceptable in the Lord’s eyes.  He desired purity and God blessed his life in big ways.

Application:

Purity, character, integrity, and having a right heart, are crucial in our walk with God.  We should ask the Holy Spirit daily to purify our hearts, motives, and actions.  Our desire, like the Psalmist, should be to be pleasing in God’s sight.  I want to ask the Lord daily to wash me with the water of His word and to purify every area of my life.

Prayer:

Examine me Holy Spirit.  Point out the areas that are not right with you.  Teach me to hunger and thirst more and more for You and to walk in Your paths.  I want to serve You well and with purity of heart, action, and thoughts.  Help me to live a life that You can bless in every area.  Show me what to change and I will change it.

Yours,
Jeff

Scripture:

“Lord, I will worship you with extended hands as my whole heart explodes with praise! I will tell everyone everywhere about your wonderful works and how your marvelous miracles exceed expectations!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭9:1‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Observation:

Here the Psalmist says that he will worship with extended hands as his whole heart explodes with praise.  He goes on to say that he will tell everyone about the marvelous miracles that exceed expectations.  He had been touched by the Lord’s goodness and wanted the world to know about it.

Application:

When we realize how incredible God is, our hearts should be exploding with praise.  Our hearts should be jumping up and down and celebrating the goodness of God.  We should be telling the whole world about His incredible miracles.  When God does something for me, I need to turn it into explosive praise and honor.  God is worthy of my best praise.  I need to tell the world what He has done and not make excuses.

Prayer:

Father, You are amazing and I want to declare Your goodness to the ends of the earth.  I want to make Your name famous in all the earth.  I want to lift up Your name every day of my life.  Help me to never be quiet and subdued about how good You are.  Help me to never worship based on my feelings, but on who You are.  You are worthy of my very best, most energetic praise and worship.

Yours Forever,
Jeff
